Martello Lakes, Dymchurch Road,
West Hythe, Kent CT21 4ND

Martello Lakes is one of Kent’s oldest and most tranquil fisheries set in 55 acres of the Lower Greensand Escarpment, with the lake spanning 40 acres of highly stocked water.

RKB Leisure is the new proud owner of this stunning facility. We took over the reins in March 2018, with a desire and plan to move Martello Lakes forward, in keeping with modern needs and trends.

RKB Leisure is part of a large family-run group of companies based across Kent from Borough Green to West Hythe.

Our core business is supply of natural materials to the building industry, whilst at the same time having an acute awareness of environmental preservation needs. An important part of this is returning brown belt land back to its former raw state, thus preserving and encouraging wild-life and the natural habitat.

We are open all year round for fishing and sailing activities for all ages. We cater for all abilities and encourage family membership. Single members are also welcome, or indeed those who wish to simply fish on a day or night ticket.

Facilities on-site include toilets and showers, along with a modest-sized club hut open to both members and day-ticket holders.

Our full-time bailiff Derek has over fifty years experience of the waters, and is on hand to give advice and answer any questions you may have.

We have already made great strides in creating new swims, replacing and repairing roads and car parks where needed and generally improving the overall presentation of the facility.

Our aim is to make your RKB Leisure experience as calm, relaxing and pleasant as possible.

"We would like to confirm that ONLY pellets and bollies are to be used by members at Martello Lake and spodding will therefore be permitted.  However, a maximum weight of 5kg of pellets and bollies are to be used per person per session which will be checked.  There are NO exceptions to this rule, and anyone found caught using other bait or more than 5kg will be banned permanently at Martello Lake with no refund given."
